Peter Marshall Stairs is supplying a package of steel staircases for a power plant being built in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Skelton Grange is a new Energy from Waste (EfW) power plant being built in Leeds. It will help West Yorkshire reach its net zero target in the next 15 years. The plant is well into its construction phase, and Peter Marshall Stairs supplied a package of industrial stairs.
The facility will process up to 410,000 tonnes of waste per year, and generate electricity from different forms of non-infectious clinical and solid waste. The energy produced will be enough to power more than 100,000 homes in the UK every year.
Construction on the power plant, which is being developed by Hitachi Zosen Inova, SSE and Wheelabrator Technologies. It started in 2022 and is expected to be operational in 2025. The project will create a number of jobs in the West Yorkshire region, as well as transform tonnes of non-recyclable waste into energy. The green economy offers one of the biggest opportunities for growth, as well as creating sustainable jobs and energy security for future generations.
The package of steel staircases we provided on this project included industrial stairs, platforms and CAT ladders, to the Boiler Hall, Waste Bunker, Turbine Hall and Parts Store.
