As part of the SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway project, Peter Marshall Steel Stairs delivered and installed mezzanine steel stairs. The 700-acre development has delivered over 4.5 million square feet of logistics accommodation to date. One of the goals of the site is to significantly reduce the volume of HGV traffic on the UK road network.
Centrally located in the Midlands, adjacent to East Midlands Airport, and with direct access to junction 24 of the M1, the development has delivered over 3 million square feet of logistics space, with consent for up to 6 million square feet in total. The site has a net zero target of 2030 and is working hard to achieve this.
The development also incorporates a 50-acre Strategic Rail Freight Interchange including a rail freight terminal, capable of handling up to sixteen 775m freight trains per day, container storage and HGV parking.
Peter Marshall Steel Stairs designed, manufactured, and installed 3 sets of mezzanine stairs, comprising of:
- 3 half landings & 1 floor landing
- All supported on a 6-column support structure
- Durbar treads & landings with contrasting nosings
- Twin rail steel balustrade
