HBC Fields

WIDNES

HBC Fields is a new warehouse and office complex being built in Widnes, Cheshire, that will have more than half a million square feet and it is expected to create 1,100 new jobs. The new development will include a 512,000 square foot warehouse with 33,000 square feet of integral two-storey office space.

Peter Marshall Steel Stairs were asked to supply a number of items for the warehouses and offices on the site. These include 2 stairs for the transport offices and 12 single flight means of escape (MOE) steel stairs, as well as balustrades.

On the site there will be 181 parking bays for HGVs and 72 docking spaces for loading and unloading. The £65m development will be a significant warehousing facility and the entire HBC Fields site spans 55 acres. Part of the new development will include security gatehouses, an electricity substation and a vehicle wash facility. There will also be 480 car parking spaces and 102 cycle spaces. The site has excellent access to the motorway network and rail infrastructure and it is not expected to have an adverse impact on the road network.

HBC Fields will contribute to jobs growth in the area and help boost the local economy, initially during the construction phase, and then on an ongoing basis with 500 full times roles once it is operational.

This latest development shows that the UK logistics and industrial sector is continuing to grow and significant investments are being made to secure its future.
